Unwind in an authentic French holiday villa in Burgundy. Moulin du Merle is located in the picturesque Nièvre region and is ideal for families, groups of friends or retreats and workshops for up to 15 people.

On the 1st floor you’ll find the three largest rooms: Grande Fleurs, Chambre Bleue and Chambre Rose.

The front garden is used both to play and relax, featuring many places to sit in the shadow to read a book, and large tables to seat well over 15 people at lunch or dinner.

A place full of character and comfort

The house has 8 spacious bedrooms, large living and dining rooms and a vast garden with a meandering river to swim in. The former water mill from 1697 was carefully converted into a warm, atmospheric villa. You will enjoy high ceilings, large windows and authentic details, perfect to unwind.

  • Spacious sitting room with sofas, a fireplace and home cinema
  • Large adjoining dining room for up to 15 people
  • Fully equipped kitchen: SMEG gas cooker, double oven, two fridges

The Garden :

  • River and swimming pond
  • Pizza oven and large barbecue
  • Fireplace and terrace with a view

Sleeping comfort:

  • 8 spacious bedrooms 
  • 3 bathrooms, 5 toilets
  • Optional : baby cots or extra single beds

At the beginning of 2025, I decided it was time for a new adventure alongside my work as a freelance producer and copywriter. With great enthusiasm, I’ve taken on the rental and day-to-day management of the family bussines Moulin du Merle.

  • Check-in: from 17:00 (early check-in from 13:00 for €100)
  • Check-out: until 12:00 (lazy check-out until 17:00 for €100)

  • From €650 per night (max. 15 people)
  • Discount for 3+ nights: up to 50%
  • Deposit: €300 (returned after check-out)
  • Book through us? You don’t pay any service charges.

Moulin du Merle is close to the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan – ideal for hiking, cycling and visiting the Bibracte archaeological museum.
For culture lovers, Vézelay is a must: this pilgrimage site is known for its impressive basilica (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and is the starting point of the Camino de Santiago.
